I had an extended 2 week stay here. It was definitely the most pleasant large hotel stay experience I've had in either the UK or abroad. Location - right across the coastal road from the beach, close to the train station, town centre, pier and start of the South Downs national park. Amazing full frontal sea views and oblique views up to the Downs. Facilities - not 5* but what they have they do well. There's a nice bar and excellent restaurant. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, spacious and have really comfortable beds. Mine had a balcony looking over the Channel. The hotel is generally very quiet so great for a good night's sleep. This is partly a function of the customer demographic, which tends to be older couples, but that also seems to be Eastbourne hotels in general. Staff - this is where the hotel really differentiates itself. Outstanding service, at booking, through reception, bar, restaurant and cleaning. They are all very friendly, keen to help and seem genuinely happy to be working there. Perhaps due to the fact that the hotel is owned by a trade union and so they must treat their own staff well? A John Lewis model for hotels?
Overall visiting experience was good, the view was nice, decor modern and staff very friendly but I have a little dislike about the filthy gents toilets on the ground floor with tissue papers scattered all over the drenched slippery floors waiting over 45min for a cleaner to attend after being notified. Perhaps this was due to the severe influx of guests with hyperactive children rushing in and out during the nearby Airshow but nonetheless it shouldn't have taken that long. Otherwise the lounge area was quite comfy and welcoming even with a few loud and mouthy guests celebrating within the ground floor canteen area. All in all not a bad day to stay but could have been better dealt with by management as staff seemed rushed and working hard in trying to resolve too many issues at once. 7 out of 10 is all I can offer on this occasion but I will consider returning to see if things improve at a later date this year. I'm hopeful.

Just spent 4 wonderful days at the Langham I wouldn't hesitate on recommending it to anyone. Had a wonderful stay with excellent weather too. Excellent care , service and food. Credit due to good management and teamwork My only comment would be more care to be taken at keeping the outdoor tables, chair area better. Could do with a good sweep and hose down. Not good when you have to request table go be cleaned due to sticky spillages and full ashtrays. I hope in the future that I may be lucky enough to visit again. Room 222 Mrs Cooper
My partner and I stayed here overnight on a weekend coastal trip, and had one of the city view rooms. The hotel's decor looks a little dated, but in a charming way. The room was reasonably sized with a decently comfortable bed, and a nice sized bath with a shower overhead. There were also monogrammed robes in the room which were a nice touch. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs within a short walking distance, and we were able to find street parking just around the corner from the hotel. A simple but tasty two course breakfast was included. The hotel staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, and we were even given a bottle of water for our onward journey when we checked out, which was really thoughtful.

We visited on a deal. So what we got wasn't bad for the money we paid. The ground floor and basement areas of this hotel are smart and refurbished. The location is fab, and with glorious weather and a seaview from the dinning room we weren't complaining. The breakfast was decent. The evening meal wasn't bad either. Our room was disappointing. It was small and worn. But clean enough, but very hot and with ill fitting windows. I would stay here again, but I'd want a different room.
Last year I booked a sea view room for two nights for this year's Eastbourne tennis event last week but later read some reviews for the Cavendish and I have to say I was disappointed. However, the only complaint I had was that the sliding windows on the balcony overlooking the sea were locked. As it was extremely hot everywhere last week it was difficult not to be able to open windows for some fresh sea air, especially as the hotel is not air conditioned either. The breakfast was excellent and the room large and beds comfortable. The bathroom was clean and towels fluffy. If the windows had opened my visit would have been perfect.

Nice bar and great food, but the acoustics! So echoey. Sounds like everyone is shouting.
Lots to like here and Long Man ales are great but they're always warm. It's costing at least one review star

A proper Gastro pub. Great food, quality branded alcohol. Same faces behind the bar every time you visit. Quite middle class (not a bad thing). They do an excellent breakfast at weekends and in the summer they often have a beer, cider and music festival.
Grandparents, Mum and 5 year old ate here on May Bank Holiday. Couldn't fault anything. Great food, great service. They couldn't do enough for us. Sized plates of food to suit eg 5 year old couldn't eat whole plate of macaroni cheese so they halved quality and price. Same with Ploughman's. Battered fish and chips is enormous. Excellent ales. Definitely on our list next time we are in the area.

Terrific 'local' pub. Full of life. Great beer. Very friendly staff. Very popular despite being well hidden. Highly recommend
Delicious cakes, even gluten free ones! Very helpful and welcoming in a Picturesque setting. Well worth a visit for coffee/cake, lunch or an evening drink with entertainment. Thank you.

Fantastic service. Nothing too much trouble
Recently returned from two weeks in Eastbourne. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment in Gresham House, Hartington Place. The apartment is ideally located in a quiet area near the beach, and in easy walking distance of the town. It is very comfortable, clean and well-equipped - almost better than being at home! Carl was cheerfully helpful with our, at first, frequent questions on how to work something and had excellent suggestions on places to eat! Would certainly recommend this apartment and hope to stay there again sometime.

Hi. I am just using my daughters account. We had an amazing weekend. The accommodation and services were top notch. As a keen sea swimmer, I was able to get my 8am dip in every morning as the hotel is just across from the sea. Our hosts couldn’t be nicer and I would highly recommend a visit to this dream place. The room we stayed in was so quiet, we couldn’t hear a pin drop and the facilities were marvellous. Thanks for such a memorable weekend. Martin & Fiona
Out stay at beautiful Beachside was everything we had hoped for and more. A brilliant sea front location but really quiet in our Apartment, we had No2. There were 3 of us; 2 adults and a 6 year old - we all found the Apartment comfy and peaceful. The beds were very comfortable, and there were lots of handy hanging hooks throughout the Apartment which was useful for bags, coats, etc. John was a friendly and extremely helpful host. The extensive DVD library in the front lobby was most welcome. We were able to stock up on food easily - just a short 5 minute walk to a Sainsbury's corner shop which had all the basics. We were a bit apprehensive about parking on the street as Beachside doesn't have any designated parking spaces, but it was no problem. We parked a street away or nearer quite easily every day. A brilliant week's holiday, despite cold and misty weather, we would all love to stay at Beachside again and would thoroughly recommend it.

Neil and Sally are wonderful hosts - they are very welcoming and helpful. The house is beautiful, very clean and very well finished. Our double room on the ground floor had a lovely sea view and there are a lot of excellent restaurants nearby, only a 5 minute walk or so. The beach is literally a stones throw away. The promenade along the beach is lined with beautiful buildings and hotels. I'd always dismissed Eastbourne as a weekend or holiday location but I was wrong, I'd very happily come back here and highly recommend a stay.
Stayed at pebble beach. What a great place .Lovely clean room . Lovely breakfast. Neil & sally are great people Very helpful 11out of 10

Lovely room. Lovely house and amazing hosts. And the most beautiful cat.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

We were really happy with this campsite. We needed an easy and safe family environment as it was our first camping trip with our toddler. Fairfields Farm Campsite was exactly that. You can keep your car on your pitch which we found really convenient. The grown-ups were happy with the cleanliness of the showers and loos, and our toddler loved the farm animals who seemed very happy and well-kept. The only reason I have given four and not five stars is because of the lack of local produce in the shop. I'd love to see them sell local farm eggs, free-range organic meats, local ciders and salads from nearby Hankham Organics the next time we go!
Fabulous site, clean toilets and showers. Lots of farm animals around the site/farm all well looked after. Lovely little fishing lake. Would come back and recommend highly. 10/10
